Manager of Castle Johns make no ‘bones’ about it… she claims they have the best wings around! As Angie told us: “Who needs fast food when you have Castle Johns?” Good call. Wings are clearly a house favorite as we saw many orders fly by us. And with 69 cent wings on Tuesday nights and a pint and a pound for only $11 on Sundays, you can’t go wrong! They have created a sizeable selection of homemade wing sauces –try suggesting your own concoction to the server. Add juicy grilled burgers, sautéed ribs and crispy Haddock and Chips to the fan favorites and count on each portion to be substantial.
Here’s a unique ‘must try’: Two Little Yorkies: two small Yorkshire puddings stuffed with tender roasted beef, mashed potato and smothered in rich horseradish gravy, topped with onion straws. A deliciously wicked mini roast beef dinner!! There is a special every day of the week.
This family-style restaurant at 900 Division Street at Elgin in Cobourg will put you in mind of a cozy rec room, complete with pool table, boasting dark colours and white stone accents. One side seats you at tables and booths and opposite is a 20-seat long bar, with a grand selection of suds on tap, and booth seating along the wall. No matter where you sit, you’ll have a good view of over 20 televisions (even one in the floor!!).
On fair days, guests can enjoy a 32-seat patio with full food service and always expect extremely fair prices and attentive table service during your visit. If you’re travelling in the area, you will find a Castle John’s in Port Perry, Peterborough and Newcastle with all the same great tastes.
Angie’s parting words may just sum up their restaurant successes: “Customer Service is always our priority – we want guests to feel that our place is their place!” So when you’re travelling, come taste why people talk about Castle John’s!
